Spaghetti & Turkey Sausage
Ingredients (spaghetti) –
- 1 pound of ground turkey sausages (recipe is below)
- 8 ounces of whole wheat spaghetti
- 1 cup of low fat cottage cheese
- 1 cup of skim shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1 cup of low fat ricotta cheese
- 1 teaspoon of dried oregano
- ½ teaspoon of grounded black pepper
- 1 tablespoon of chopped fresh basil
Ingredients (turkey sausage):
- 1 pound of ground beef turkey
- ½ teaspoon of garlic powder
- ½ teaspoon of freshly grounded black pepper
- 1/4th teaspoon of cayenne pepper
- 1 teaspoon of dried oregano
Directions –
- Add in all of the sausage ingredients to a large bowl while mixing it thoroughly.
- Cook the ground turkey sausage inside of a big skillet on top of medium heat while breaking it into tiny pieces.
- Drain it, discard the fat and put it on the side.
- Combine the marinara with your meat and the spaghetti pieces
- In a medium bowl, mix the turkey sausages with the rest of the ingredients before putting it inside of your slow cooker.
- Cover it and cook it on a low heat for 2-3 hours until the cheese is bubbly.
- Serve and enjoy!
