Spaghetti & Turkey Sausage 

Ingredients (spaghetti) –

  • 1 pound of ground turkey sausages (recipe is below)
  • 1 jar of spaghetti sauce
  • 8 ounces of whole wheat spaghetti
  • 1 cup of low fat cottage cheese
  • 1 cup of skim shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1 cup of low fat ricotta cheese
  • 1 teaspoon of dried oregano
  • Kosher salt
  • ½ teaspoon of grounded black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon of chopped fresh basil

Ingredients (turkey sausage): 

  • 1 pound of ground beef turkey
  • ½ teaspoon of garlic powder
  • ½ teaspoon of freshly grounded black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon of dried sage
  • 1/4th teaspoon of cayenne pepper
  • 1 teaspoon of dried oregano

Directions –

  1. Add in all of the sausage ingredients to a large bowl while mixing it thoroughly.
  1. Cook the ground turkey sausage inside of a big skillet on top of medium heat while breaking it into tiny pieces.
  1. Drain it, discard the fat and put it on the side.
  1. Combine the marinara with your meat and the spaghetti pieces
  1. In a medium bowl, mix the turkey sausages with the rest of the ingredients before putting it inside of your slow cooker.
  1. Cover it and cook it on a low heat for 2-3 hours until the cheese is bubbly.
  1. Serve and enjoy!
